| Block parties are a great way to create a sense of community on your street. Neighbours who know each other, and watch out for each other, make for a safer neighbourhood. Encourage people to exchange contact information at the party so they can call each other when something is amiss. Simple things, like calling your neighbours when they have left their garage door open, can prevent thefts from occurring. |

 | FREE FOOD OFFER Neighbourhood Watch will supply free burgers, hot dogs and buns for your block party if you distribute crime prevention flyers with your party invitations. Block parties may be held on your street or in local parks, and Neighbourhood Watch also loans street barricades to use at your event.
