Mission Statement

Neighbourhood Watch provides a means of reducing the opportunity for crime to occur through the active participation of citizens working together in a crime prevention program that will provide a more secure and safe place to live everyday.

The Strategic Vision

  • Be more aggressive in recruiting Area Leaders, Block Captains and members.
  • Provide more Area Leader and Block Captain workshops.
  • Develop a responsibility package for Area Leaders and Block Captains.
  • Provide more support for Area Leaders and Block Captains (attend local meetings).
  • Make maps available to Area Leaders and Block Captains.
  • Through encouragement and challenge, enhance the commitment of the Area Leaders and Block Captains.
  • Develop a communication package for Area Leaders and Block Captains for recruiting members.
  • Listen and respond to the needs of Area Leaders, Block Captains and Members.
  • The vision of the Neighbourhood Watch Board of Directors is to create a clear and encouraging environment and to provide the necessary leadership, education and material to reduce the activities required to carry out the responsibilities of Area Leaders and Block Captains.

Measurement of Performance

  • Increase number of Area Leaders, Block Captains and Members by a minimum of 10%.
  • Increase number of workshops, training sessions.
  • Development and distribution of responsibility and communication packages.
  • Greater activity with Area Leaders and Block Captains.
  • Greater activity by Area Leaders and Block Captains.
  • Distribution of maps to all Area Leaders and Block Captains.
  • Enhance communications with Area Leaders and Block Captains.

Overall Performance Indicator

  • The reduction of criminal activity in our community together with an improved rate of arrests of the perpetrators.
